Living alongside
Living Alongside is a supportive and inclusive space for families navigating the challenges of supporting a loved one with a first responder workplace injury. Designed from lived experience our purpose is to provide connection, support, understanding and advocacy for those living alongside first responder mental health injury.
Our why
Living Alongside was created because, when our own families were impacted by first responder psychological injury, the support we needed simply wasn’t there. We’re here to offer others what we couldn’t find—connection, understanding, and practical help for families living alongside trauma
Our advocacy aims to raise awareness of the unique and complex impacts that first responder service has on their families and loved ones. We seek to reduce the negative effects of psychological harm and workplace injury on these families, while increasing their inclusion, support, and access to services that improve their wellbeing and long-term outcomes.
