Acknowledgement of Lived Experience

At Living Alongside, we recognise and deeply value the lived experiences of families and loved ones who walk beside a first responder impacted by psychological injury.

We know the journey can be tough—filled with uncertainty, emotional weight, and moments of deep isolation. But we also know the strength, love, and commitment it takes to keep going. You are not alone in this. Others have walked this path and are walking it still—and together, we are building a compassionate, connected community where every story matters.

Here, you’ll find understanding, support, and a shared commitment to healing. Together, we can create space for hope, restore connection, and help each other find steady ground—one step at a time.

You belong here. We’re stronger, together.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, and walk alongside others. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and families.

We honour the strength, wisdom, and resilience that First Nations communities bring to the ongoing journey of healing, care, and connection
